How to add Ozone Chain to MetaMask: mainnet and testnet settings

A manual setup guide for chain ID 10121, with checks for the common network-configuration mistakes.

Start with the network you need

Use Ozone Mainnet for real network activity and Ozone Testnet for development experiments. Mainnet gas is paid in OZONE; the testnet symbol in whitepaper v3.0 is tOZONE. Adding a network configures your wallet. It does not purchase coins, move assets or guarantee that a particular application is safe.

Enter the mainnet settings

In MetaMask, open the network selector and look for the option to add a custom network manually. Menu wording can differ by version. Enter Network name: Ozone Mainnet; RPC URL: https://chain.ozonescan.com; Chain ID: 10121; Currency symbol: OZONE; Block explorer: https://ozonescan.com. Review every field before saving. The hexadecimal form of the chain ID is 0x2789.

Use testnet settings for experiments

For testnet, enter Ozone Testnet, https://rpc-testnet.ozonescan.com, chain ID 10120 (0x2788), currency symbol tOZONE and explorer https://testnet.ozonescan.com. Testnet funds are needed to execute test transactions. The website does not currently list a confirmed faucet; use maintained project resources to verify how test funds are obtained.

Use the website’s network button if preferred

The developer centre includes an Add to wallet button and a mainnet/testnet selector. It asks a compatible injected wallet provider to add the selected configuration. Review the wallet’s own confirmation rather than accepting a prompt by habit. If no injected provider is available, the page displays manual settings. Network addition is different from approving a token allowance or signing a transaction.

Troubleshoot without exposing your keys

If the wallet reports the wrong chain, check the RPC and chain ID together. If the network already exists, inspect the saved configuration rather than creating multiple confusing entries. If balances appear absent, confirm the selected network and inspect the address in the correct explorer. A missing wallet display is not enough to conclude that coins have disappeared. RPC outages can also interrupt wallet data.

Before the first transaction

Confirm the app domain, selected network, recipient and estimated fee. Do not type a seed phrase into a site to “activate” a network. Back up wallet credentials securely using your wallet provider’s guidance. When a destination is uncertain, resolve the uncertainty before moving value; blockchain transactions may be irreversible.

Common questions

Does adding the network cost OZONE?

Adding network settings is a wallet configuration request. Executing an on-chain transaction is a separate action that requires gas.

Can I use mainnet and testnet interchangeably?

No. They have different chain IDs, endpoints and asset contexts.

Sources and editorial scope

This guide uses the supplied Ozone Chain whitepaper v3.0 and the project’s published network settings. Live-data examples refer to the website integration; figures can change.
